Impasse

legerdemainwpblog8cr

Sycophant leaders promise
Peace by dint of pretense
A truth search impasse

Huddled aides parlay
Negotiating lives and turf
In gain-loss bartering

Political charades conjure
Deniability, but trust
Quiets to hopelessness

Deceptions disguise the
Descent of Humanness while
Polluting sovereign lives

Honor decays slowly
Nullifying governments
The death of relevance

Self-governance, through mutual love, is the original scheme of Human existence. The collective capability to self-govern begins with the individual. There are no acceptable conditions by which one Human Being rules over another. There are no acceptable conditions by which a collective of Human beings rules over any other aspect of Humanity. There are no acceptable conditions by which any aspect of Humanity rules over Nature.

  1. Outstanding poem and commentary. I appreciate poetry that isn’t vague, sugary, flowery, and understandable! Too many poets write this obscure shot that only they, and perhaps God, can understand. Well done!

  2. Man do I love this. But why do so many of us sign away our voices in ‘representative democracy’ allowing someone, anyone, to make decisions on our behalf? Couldn’t we all just not show up for their conventions, rallies, elections, swear-ins, and nullify this system that is so clearly counter to humanity? Thank you for posting this today.

    • I would defer to Jean Jacques Rousseau (Social Contract & Discourses) on this matter: “If we take the term in the strict sense, there never has been a real democracy, and there never will be. It is against the natural order for the many to govern and the few to be governed. It is unimaginable that the people should remain continually assembled to devote their time to public affairs, and it is clear that they cannot set up commissions for that purpose without the form of administration being changed.”

The U.S. is not a democracy, it is a republic….clearly stipulated in the first ten words of the pledge of allegiance. By design, in a republic, voters vote away their right to determine. The term “democracy” is a form of propaganda used to create the illusion of control by the voters. Control is the prize sought by political parties and not in the best interests of the population.
